We hope you find the following Grilling Tips helpful when cooking on your new Fiesta Gas Grill!
- Use tongs when turning meat instead of a fork. Piercing meat with a fork causes the meat to lose it's extra juices.
- To create a cross-hatch of grill marks on your steak, sear the steak on the outside, rotating it 45 degrees.
- Fish has a tendency to stick to the grill. A fish basket allows
you to turn the basket, not the fish, so you will not have the problem
of the fish sticking to the cooking grid.
- Marinate your vegetables in a light oil with your favorite
seasonings to keep them from drying out on the grill. Try italian
dressing, it works great.
- All porcelain coated cooking grids should be cleaned with a brass wire brush or scrubber.
- A grill with left and right burner controls allows you to light
one side of the burner, cutting your cooking surface in half. When both
sides are lit, the heat can be controled for each side.
- "H" Burners are normally found on larger, premium grills and are
designed to fill the base in order to provide effective heat
distribution throughout the cooking surface.
- A side burner is a great way to maximize your outdoor cooking
experience. This is a great feature for those who want to enjoy the
convience of preparing the entire meal outdoors.
- For safety reasons, it is very important that you follow lighting instructions included with your gas grill.
- Lava
rock provides the traditional flavor of grilling. Their
porous surface offers a cooking experience similar to charcoal grills.
- When using an acid-based marinade, be sure to use only
non-reactive containers made of glass, ceramic or stainless steel or
use food-safe plastic zip-lock bags. Do not use an aluminum
container, it creates a chemical reaction that can darken the food and
the aluminum container.
- When
using wooden skewers, always soak them in water for 15 - 20 minutes
before using. This will help guarantee even cooking.
